Pakistan’s number one 4G operator and largest internet and broadband service provider, Jazz It launched an organization-wide COVID-19 vaccination study involving permanent and contract workers.
Considering the limited availability of vaccines in the country, Jazz will progressively manage the vaccine, starting first with frontline commercial and technical workers and members of the franchise network. In the next phase, vaccines will be provided to other employees who are already working from home. Jazz also offers employees the option to get their vaccine vaccinations from a government-approved private laboratory on their own and get reimbursement of expenses.
Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim said, “Jazz has always been at the forefront of ensuring the well-being of its employees, customers, business partners, and has provided marginalized segments of society with access to basic needs since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of # JazzCares, we launched a nationwide employee and franchise partners vaccination campaign to support the government’s efforts to accelerate the vaccination of our citizens. “
Jazz was also the first telecommunications company to pledge 1.2 billion PKR to COVID-19 relief in 2020. The support included various initiatives aimed at limiting the negative impact of the pandemic, particularly among the most vulnerable communities. The #JazzCares philosophy has been extended to the company’s HR and Health & Safety teams to employees who provide care packages as well as safety equipment to those who are infected.
The company has also implemented various initiatives aimed at the health and well-being of its staff, such as online consulting sessions and exercise classes; Launch of one-stop digital solutions to provide e-health services in partnership with SehatKahani; Medical insurance plans for Covid-19; Regular disinfection of offices to ensure the safety of incoming business critical personnel; Equipping all work areas with personal protective equipment, travel restrictions with close monitoring.
