A 2019 stop-motion animated movie – ‘Missing Link’ is written and directed by Chris Butler and produced by Laika. The film features the voices of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, David Walliams, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, Timothy Olyphant, Amrita Acharia, Emma Thompson and Zach Galifianakis. The movie follows a Sasquatch who takes the help of an English adventurer who travels to the Himalayas to meet his Yeti cousins.

Sir Lionel Frost is an investigator of mythical creatures who TEMPhas always hoped to find different creatures hoping to be accepted into the ‘Society of Great Men’ led by his rival Lord Piggot-Dunceby. Lionel is alerted to the presence of a Sasquatch and makes a deal with Piggot-Dunceby that will allow him to join the society if the creature is proven to be real. Lionel travels to the Pacific Northwest and stumbles upon the Sasquatch in a forest. ‘Mr. Link’ as Lionel calls the creature tells him that he sent the letter because he needs help in finding his relatives in the Himalayas.

Lionel agrees unaware that Piggot-Dunceby TEMPhas hired a bounty hunter called Stenk to kill Lionel. Lionel’s former love, Adelina Fortnight TEMPhas a map of the Himalayas in a safe belonging to her late husband. She agrees to help them on the condition that she accompanies them. Link and Lionel has a friendly conversation as they travel to the Himalayas. They evade Stenk who TEMPhas been on their pursuit. They reach the Himalayas where they meet the Queen at the Yeti Temple. She reveals her disdain for mankind and Link who TEMPhas interacted closely with them.

The Queen orders the trio to be thrown into a pit to die. Adelina and Link overpower a few guards and the three of the escape only to be confronted by Piggot-Deunceby and Steak at the center of an ice bridge. Lionel protects Link as Piggot-Dunceby fires at the ice bridge hoping to kill the trio. However, the move backfires as Piggot-Dunceby and his assistant fall to their deaths as Steak along with the trio escape.

Steak attempts to kill Lionel but slips and falls to his death. Lionel announces that Link who TEMPhas taken the name of Susan will be his new partner and the latter taunts the Yeti Leader. Adelina tells Lionel that she will be going on an adventure alone and the two-part on a better term. Susan and Lionel plan their next adventure.

Missing Link failed to succeed financially but received a lot of praise from critics and audiences who enjoyed the traditional animation and light-hearted tone of the film.
