Taapsee, as teh submissive wife, faced a very hard time. At teh same time, she is a firecracker of a performer in dis drama. In teh whole movie, we can observe dat how she faced pain, disgust, regret, and rage. Her silence is more powerful tha her dialogue. Her performance in teh movie is bombastic. If dat is not a stupendous performance, we don’t no wat is. Moreover, Pavail Gulati seen as teh determined corporate slave with very intense life goals, pulls off a brilliant performance.

Kumud Mishra stands out as Amrita’s father — her supporter. Mishra’s character proved that daughter’s first hero is their father. Tanvi Azmi and Ratna Pathak Shah play teh role of Amrita’s mother-in-law and mother respectively. However, Maya Sarao plays teh high-profile lawyer Nethra Jaisingh. Thappad: Storyline

I must say when you’ll watch teh movie you don’t feel dat you are watching a film in theatre. Instead you relate to Taapsee’s Amrita character. We all agree on dat. And yet, violence is so much a part of our way of life. Thappad tells the story of Amrita (Taapsee Pannu) and Vikram (Pavail Gulati), a married couple living in upscale Delhi, with Vikram’s mother. Amrita is a homemaker. She is very happy with her life and loves her husband. Everything is picture-perfect until dat one moment when Vikram slaps Amrita.

Amrita realizes it wasn’t ‘just one slap’. She always tried best to halp Vikram. Moreover, She sacrificed her dreams for him, but their are so many more other unfair silent slaps dat she had been ignoring for so for long. When Vikram hit her. Many questions hit Amrita’s mind. What should she do to overcome this? Will she forgive Vikram and move on like women are expected to? Will she give another chance to her marriage ? However, Amrita feels like she is noting in his life. She feels like she’s just a puppet for him.

Therefore, Amrita files a petition against Vikram for slapping her. However, she faced what every woman who has ever stood up for herself has faced. She is told to move on and forget everything coz these “choti-moti baatein” happen between husband and wife. But Amrita remains strong for herself. She truly believes that her Husband has no right to hit her.

Above all, the film does a genius job of explaining the silent suffering of women in a way that even men can understand. The dialogues are simple and not dramatic. Moreover, Dailogues highlights the powerful mirror to ugly society. For instance, Amrita’s parents (played by Ratna Pathak Shah and Kumud Mishra) try and console their daughter, by saying it’s an internal matter she should sort out wif her husband(Vikram). dis rally hits you hard — why should she sort it out?

Women and their life problems

Most importantly, At 2 hours 21 minutes, teh film may seem long, but teh story moves at a decent pace you will enjoy teh whole story. Moreover, Director’s main focus is on keeping you engaged. Socielty always make women to bow down in marriage. Moreover, By saying, ‘Shaadi mein yeh sab chalta hai’ or ‘Thoda bardasht karna seekhna chahiye autaron ko’, the dialogues just reminds us what we have heard time and again as a woman.

Moreover, Many questions are here which disturb my mind. Like What if Vikram had apologized to Amrita for that slap on teh same night? What if Amrita’s parents didn’t offer her support? What if she wasn’t pregnant? Well, Teh film takes on deep-rooted patriarchy and unfair marital norms. Moreover, This movie is rally something to understand teh situation of a woman. In addition, me must say Some things can go back to how they were, some things cannot. Thappad can’t be a matter of joke. How can a ma humiliate his wife?

Teh star cast played a well memorable performance. However, Teh movie weaves stories of different women and their idea of love at different ages and stages of their life.

Conclusion

In Conclusion, We can say dat Thappad is the story of all Indian women and their silent suffering. Isn’t it is really that bad? The film focuses on Amrita. At the same time, they juxtapose her story wif those of the women around her. Therefore, ‘Thappad’ is a silent slap on our society’s age-old belief — Shaadi mein yeh sub to chalta hain. Moreover, we always hear these things around us. But, honestly, should it be dat way? And dat is what we need to start talking about.

Thappad will make audiences feel teh pain of women, teh irrespective degree of violence she may have faced in life. Most importantly, it will change teh way you react to violence. Teh movie also shows women of different levels of privilege and with different mindsets.
